  Avery's foremost trade is that of a falconer. It is her passion, and she practically lives and breathes it. As such, the level of her skills and her knowledge is without compare. For others who are falconers or perhaps interested in learning and acquiring and utilizing a hunting falcon, Avery offers these services.

  
  

  ﹤﹤﹤﹤ trapping ﹥﹥﹥﹥ As Avery does not currently breed her own birds, a client's bird must be trapped in the wild. Any species of raptor suitable to the task that is requested is fair game. Likewise, if a client knows what quarry they're after, Avery can offer advice on which type of bird is most suitable. Clients may tag along in this part of the process, as she is always glad to teach others about how to effectively and safely trap birds. Prices negotiable based on difficulty in acquiring the desired species of raptor.

  ﹤﹤﹤﹤ manning ﹥﹥﹥﹥ Once a bird has been caught from the wild, it must be acclimated to its new environment. Avery employs one of two techniques: rapid manning by overwhelming the bird with stimuli, or slow manning by sensory deprivation. The former takes only days but can cause much stress for the bird and lead it to develop phobias. The former takes longer - upwards of a month - but results in less stress and a more well-adjusted bird. Rapid manning, five gold; Slow manning, twenty gold.

  ﹤﹤﹤﹤ training ﹥﹥﹥﹥ Once a bird is properly acclimated, it must be trained. This is a process that can take anywhere from a month to three or four, depending on both the bird's aptitude and that of its master. During training, the client's involvement is expected so Avery can teach them the basics of falconry, unless they already are knowledgeable. Lessons are offered in three tiers. Basic, three gold per week; Intermediate, six gold per week; Advanced, ten gold per week.

  When Avery is not training other falconers or their birds and hounds, she is often found in the forests doing her own hunting. While she uses a good deal of what she hunts for her own personal use, she sells the extra or takes on commissions for specific types of game for coin when she must. Avery's usual quarry when falconing is that of game birds large and small, such as pheasants, ducks, doves, pigeons, and other small birds. Likewise, small mammals such as squirrels, rabbits, and gophers are fair game to her falcon. As a bow hunter, she also occasionally takes down larger animals such as foxes, wolves, and deer.

  
  

  

  
  

  ﹤﹤﹤﹤ meat ﹥﹥﹥﹥ Whatever meat Avery doesn't use herself, she sells to eager customers. She can also be commissioned to hunt certain game. Quarry can be provided as-is, dressed, or butchered. However, note that her butchery work isn't exactly the best, though it is functional. Prices vary based on difficulty of animal to locate and hunt, state it is desired in, and demand.

  ﹤﹤﹤﹤ pelts & feathers ﹥﹥﹥﹥ Likewise, whatever animal pelts and feathers that she doesn't use from her hunts are processed and sold. All pelts and furs come cleaned and tanned, ready for use in the making of armor and/or clothing. Likewise, feathers of all sorts - primaries, secondaries, down, etc - from a variety of species can be acquired. Prices vary based on difficulty of animal to locate and hunt, state it is desired in, and demand.

  After living on her own for five years, Avery has picked up and become fairly skilled at leatherwork. Particularly, she specializes in the making of equipment for use in falconry. However, as both a hobby and for her own personal needs, she had also picked up the creation of leather attire, though it is somewhat simple in comparison to her skill with falconry equipment.

  
  
  
  

  ﹤﹤﹤﹤ falconry equipment ﹥﹥﹥﹥ Avery can create pretty much all equipment a falconer would need, from gauntlets to hoods and jesses to leashes and lures. Not only is her work of high quality fundamentally, but she can also create very elaborate, beautiful designs should the client request it.   A more recent hobby, Avery's ability to create leather clothing and accessories isn't quite as high quality. However, her work is still very sound and sturdy, even if it tends to be a bit plain and lacking in ornamentation. Her prices are also extremely cheap. She can create anything from gloves, belts, vests, and bags. Prices negotiable based on piece and material.
